The Position: (Senior) R&D Engineer Thermofluids
As a (Senior) R&D Engineer Thermofluids at Hades, you will conceptualize, design and develop our novel mud delivery, extraction, and cooling systems. You will work closely with the technical founding team and the multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, and scientists to make ultra-deep drilling fast and cheap.
Qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual who possesses:
- Deep thermofluids expertise: CFD, heat transfer with multiphase, rheology and thermofluid dynamics
- Ability to own the modelling stack: recommend and help establish appropriate modelling and simulation toolsets
- Experiment-driven R&D DNA: proficient in designing benchtop rigs, instruments (pressure/flow/temp), analysis of results to calibrate and improve models
- Prior experience with mud systems, geothermal, O&G, or deep mining is a plus
- Degree in Mechanical, Thermal, or Fluids Engineering; PhD preferred (or equivalent depth)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Willingness to reside in the greater Munich area
